C-section scheduled (just in case)

on July 26, 2013

Today’s appointment went well. We started the day meeting with the doctor and discussing our delivery preferences. We scheduled a c-section for August 6th just in case the babies decide not to make an appearance by then. They are both head down giving us a chance that the c-section will not be required. Only time will tell. I have been having some contractions, but nothing consistent or close together, so we wait. With everything that we anticipate will be happening after the delivery – testing and possible surgery – we will play it by ear and let people know when we are ready for visitors, but its not likely to be that first day. Thanks for understanding.

Our next stop was to see the nurse for our NST. We had a different nurse today. She had no problem finding both babies. They both had great heart activity, practice breathing and movement. The test went pretty quick today.

Our final stop was to the lab to have bloodwork done. Bailey was concerned that the needle hurt me. So, I had to put my brave face on and tell him that it was just a small poke and didn’t hurt at all. He asked if they would put my blood back after they ran the required test. He was so cute.

Overall, things are going well down here. We feel a little disoriented being pulled out of our day to day lives and are focusing on trying to keep things fun for Bailey while we wait for the babies to come. We have enjoyed staying with the Cerny’s, our conversations and watching the kids bond. Bailey will be sad when we do go to the Ronald McDonald House or home. He loves playing with the girls and Abner, the dog who resembles both Oreo and Chico (former dogs that we had).

As always, thank you for your continued prayers and support! Our next update should come Monday unless the babies come first!

Proverbs 3:5-8
New International Version (NIV)
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.[a]
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
8 This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.
